Important: Rent-a-Ride Guyana is a marketplace that helps customers discover vehicles and connect with vehicle owners. It does not replace the rental agreement between a customer and vehicle owner.

1. Using the marketplace

By using Rent-a-Ride Guyana, you agree to provide accurate information, use the service lawfully, and follow these Terms and the Marketplace Rules. We may restrict or suspend accounts that misuse the service, provide fraudulent information, or create a safety risk.

2. Vehicle owners and listings

Owners must be authorized to offer the listed vehicle for rental.
Listings must contain accurate vehicle details, pricing, availability, photos, and restrictions.
Owners are responsible for maintaining vehicles in a safe and legally usable condition and for meeting applicable Guyanese requirements.
Owners are responsible for their rental terms, handover arrangements, documents, deposits, and customer agreements.

3. Customers

Customers must provide truthful account information and follow the owner's stated rental conditions.
Customers are responsible for lawful and responsible use of a vehicle during a rental.
Customers must not use another person's account or misrepresent information to obtain a rental.

4. Bookings, cancellations and disputes

Where booking functionality is enabled, a booking request may require owner approval. Availability shown by the marketplace is subject to the information supplied by owners and system availability controls. Customers and owners should document agreed rental conditions before handover. Disputes between customers and owners should first be addressed directly using the contact information available through the marketplace; Rent-a-Ride Guyana may assist with marketplace-related issues but is not the rental contracting party unless expressly stated.

5. Platform fees

Rent-a-Ride Guyana currently operates on a 0% marketplace commission model: vehicle owners keep the rental income agreed with their customers. The platform may offer optional paid services such as featured placement, premium placement, business subscriptions, verification services, or advertising. Any applicable fee should be shown before purchase.

6. Prohibited activity

The marketplace must not be used for fraud, scams, unlawful activity, harassment, impersonation, misleading listings, or any activity that creates an unreasonable safety risk. We may remove listings or suspend accounts when necessary to protect users and the marketplace.

7. Platform availability and liability

We aim to keep the marketplace available and accurate, but online services can experience outages, errors, delays, or third-party service failures. Vehicle owners and customers remain responsible for their own agreements, decisions, legal compliance, and conduct. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude a right or protection that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms as the marketplace develops. Material changes should be communicated through the website or other appropriate means. Continued use after an update may constitute acceptance where permitted by law.

4. Service providers

Rent-a-Ride Guyana may use third-party infrastructure and service providers to operate the marketplace, including hosting, database, storage, authentication, security, and related technical services. Information is shared with providers only as reasonably necessary to provide or protect the service and as otherwise permitted by law.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect passwords and report suspected account compromise promptly.

6. Retention and requests

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, legal obligations, dispute handling, security, and legitimate business records. Users may request access, correction, or deletion of applicable personal information, subject to legal or operational requirements.

7. Cookies and local storage
